Overview

The Essex County Council Social Impact bond (SIB) the first local authority SIB in the UK funds a 3.1 million five year programme for vulnerable young people and their families in Essex. Bridges Social Entrepreneurs Fund has invested 825k as lead investor in the SIB alongside Big Society Capital in partnership with other social investors. The programme run under a payment by results contract is managed by Social Finance and delivered by Action for Children one of the UK s largest children charities.
