Overview

Vipul joined Elevar in 2011. He believes that There is no doubt that entrepreneurs can create scalable and sustainable approaches to socio economic development. Consequently Elevar became an obvious journey for me to participate in catalysing the efforts of these entrepreneurs. At Elevar Vipul has been closely involved with the journeys of Elevar s portfolio companies in India and is popular amongst entrepreneurs for his secret sauce cap table forecaster also known as the Vipul spreadsheet . He leads Elevar s efforts on portfolio analytics and market intelligence. Having grown up in a traditional family business entrenched in agri supply chain Vipul also brings valuable customer perspective to the table. Prior to joining Elevar Vipul worked with Tholons Capital where he was managing a small fund put together by the founders that had a diversified investment strategy while also focusing on startups in the IT/BPO space. He also assisted some of the private equity clients of Tholons with their investments. Prior to that he worked with Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division where he focused on the Financial Institutions Group. He has provided pro bono help to social entrepreneurs on business strategy and fund raising and has also committed some of his time over the weekends with a group of friends to foster social enterprise startups in Bangalore.Vipul has an MBA in Finance & Marketing from The International Management Institute Europe and a Post Graduate Diploma in Planning & Entrepreneurship from The Indian Institute of Planning and Management Bangalore. He also holds a B.Sc. from Bangalore University. Vipul has a Black Belt and is a Karate Coach. He has a strong interest in teaching and mentoring. He serves as guest faculty at a few business schools and is a mentor with the National Entrepreneurship Network. Vipul is also enthusiastic about Microsoft Excel technology and social media and enjoys city farming in his free time.
