Periyar Technology Business Incubator

Overview

Periyar TBI is a grant in aid project promoted by the Department of Science&Technology Government of India through the National Science& Technology Entrepreneurship Board. TBIs in general have the broad objective of promoting knowledge based and innovation driven enterprises in the country. Established in the year 2006 to promote herbal based start ups this Incubator has created facilities for small scale manufacture of herbal products testing facilities for herbal raw materials and finished products. Animal studies to test the performance of products are also undertaken. Tissue culture facilities are being made available for the production of plants. Common facilities such as office space telephone fax and Internet for incubatees are also made available. Trainings Entrepreneurship Development programmes workshops and seminars are periodically organised on need basis. Externally funded programmes are also conducted. Scientific farming practices are taught to the farmers.
