Overview

Brian Caouette is the President & CEO of Farmbuilders, an innovative plantation services company in Liberia providing advisory & management services to owners, investors, and financial institutions mainly in the rubber, oil palm, and cocoa sectors. For Farmbuilders, Brian created a financial and management model for rejuvenating thousands of hectares of independent rubber farms, supervised development of a model farm featuring plantain, cassava, and peppers intercropped with oil palm, cocoa, and rubber, and coordinated harvesting of non-productive rubber trees for biomass feedstock on client farms in partnership with an exporter serving the European power market. Prior to Farmbuilders, Brian helped develop international public-private-partnerships as a strategy consultant, helping to secure financing for international infrastructure projects, including the $5.2b Panama Canal expansion. Brian was also a Peace Corps volunteer (Republic of Panama), is an Echoing Green Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship, and holds a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA/ID) degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.
